Tucker University Freshman Year - Tucker Trimmer

Welcome to the beginning of another year of Tucker University! The Freshman Year is the foundation of learning about the Studio 180 Design philosophy - oversize the unit and trim to precision. Each lesson builds on the previous lesson, focusing on piecing and cutting skills while using the Studio 180 tools. We also discuss identifying quilt blocks, and some of the many ways to combine them. One of our goals is to have a block sampler at the end of the year. So, we make practice blocks, and them we make "real" blocks for each ruler and technique. There are ten different rulers taught throughout the year. We also use Design sheets and Technique sheets to build our knowledge. Our first ruler is the Tucker Trimmer. We will meet each month on the second Thursday at 1:00 pm. Students receive 10% discount when buying supplies for this class, and 10% on their entire purchase the day of class.
